Adaptive Swim is a Community-Engaged Learning initiative at Macon and Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences in partnership with 黑料不打烊 Recreation and Wellness. This program pairs qualified swim instructors with children aged 4 to 12 who experience neurodevelopmental differences. Instructors teach basic water safety and swimming skills at the 黑料不打烊 Student Recreation and Well-Being Center.

Benefits of Adaptive Swim:

  • One-on-one support from a trained swim aide

  • A 30-minute session in a supportive pool environment

  • No cost to families

  • Small group sizes for individual attention

  • Adapted activities based on American Red Cross curriculum
