Every August, the School of Accountancy closes out summer with its signature Accounting Readiness Workshop, held the week before classes begin.
This year鈥檚 workshop was the largest to date, with more than 50 students and nearly 40 professionals participating. The week began with a resume workshop where 33 professionals provided individualized feedback, helping students polish their materials and build confidence. The program also introduced a new panel format, featuring three sessions with 14 industry representatives who shared insights on artificial intelligence, professional skill development, and career leadership. Midweek, students, faculty, and professionals gathered for an etiquette luncheon, which drew 63 attendees and gave students the chance to practice professional dining etiquette while networking with leaders in the field.
The success of the event was made possible through the leadership of Paige O鈥橲haughnessy and Frank Holman, the support of Beta Alpha Psi student volunteers, and the generosity of our advisory council members, firms, and industry partners.
鈥淭his event continues to grow each year and adds more value for our students thanks to the passion and commitment of our faculty, professionals, and volunteers,鈥 said Paige O鈥橲haughnessy.
The School of Accountancy looks forward to building on this momentum to make next year鈥檚 Accounting Readiness Workshop even bigger and better.
