October 4th – 10th, the Little Free Library (LFL) situated in the courtyard on the side of the Darden College of Education and Professional Studies building will be stocked with banned books in recognition of Banned Books Week. Launched in 1982, Banned Books Week is a response to book challenges and removals from libraries. ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ is one of very few colleges to house a registered LFL. Since its March installation, more than 490 books have been enjoyed by the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ community. Also, community members comprised of students, professors, neighbors, staff, and incognito citizens have donated 169 books. Please join us in celebrating Banned Books Week by stopping by and helping yourself to a challenged book!
