Starting Sept. 15, Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at ���ϲ����� joined with institutions of higher education across the country in celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.

“We recognize the invaluable contributions of the Hispanic and Latino communities to the fields of healthcare, science and education,” said Luisel Ricks-Santi, Ph.D., Senior Associate Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion. “At Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at ���ϲ�����, we are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where diversity is not only celebrated but seen as a vital component of our mission.”

She said Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs through Oct. 15, is an opportunity to “honor the rich history, cultures and achievements of Hispanic and Latino individuals who have shaped the landscape of health and science and whose legacies continue to inspire innovation and equity.”

“Through collaboration, education and cultural appreciation,” she added, “we strengthen our efforts to create a more inclusive healthcare environment for all.”
