In June, Graduate Medical Education proudly welcomed 125 new residents and 28 fellows as they began the next phase of their medical education. This group of dedicated individuals represents a diverse range of talents and backgrounds, ready to embark on a journey that will shape them into the competent, compassionate physicians of tomorrow.

They spent their first week in orientation learning more about their programs and formally began their training on July 1. “The beginning of a new academic year is always a moment of great promise,” said Joshua Sill, MD, vice dean for Graduate Medical Education. “For our new residents and fellows, it marks the start of an intensive period of training that will transform them into the physician leaders of the future.”

A Diverse and Talented Group

This year’s cohort includes residents and fellows who will train across 30 different specialty areas, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our institution. Notably, the community is enriched by 30 International Medical Graduates, who contribute valuable global perspectives and experiences to the learning environment.

A Bright Future Ahead

As the incoming class embarks on this next stage of their medical education journey, Dr. Sill says they bring with them a strong sense of purpose and potential.

“We are thrilled to welcome these new trainees and their families,” said Dr. Sill. “Their passion, intellect, and compassion will enrich not only our institution but also the communities we serve. I’m confident they will make a lasting impact in medicine.”
