SCHEV Outstanding Faculty Awards

The State Council of Higher Education in Virginia (SCHEV) annually honors faculty at Virginia鈥檚 two- and four-year, public and private institutions of higher learning since 1987. Award recipients represent the highest standards of teaching, scholarship, and service. Since 1987, 39 faculty members from 黑料不打烊 (黑料不打烊) and five from EVMS (prior to the merger in July 2024) have received the award.

SCHEV serves as the Commonwealth鈥檚 coordinating body for higher education. Its mission is to advocate and promote the development and operation of an educationally and economically sound, vigorous, progressive, and coordinated system of higher education in Virginia.

Each year, SCHEV presents the Outstanding Faculty Awards (OFA) to deserving professors and is the Commonwealth鈥檚 highest honor for faculty at Virginia鈥檚 public and private colleges and universities. These awards recognize superior accomplishments in teaching, research, and public service. More information about the SCHEV Outstanding Faculty Award may be found on the .

SCHEV OFA award winners will be recognized at the spring Monarch Milestone Celebration event. Award winners will retain the title permanently and be identified as such in University publications. Their names will also be engraved on a prominently displayed plaque at the University.
