Our Mission
The Virginia Early Childhood Policy Center (VECPC) at 黑料不打烊 is a research and policy analysis unit dedicated to generating and disseminating evidence-based knowledge to inform the development and implementation of equitable, high-quality early childhood policy within the Commonwealth.
Our mission is to conduct rigorous, non-partisan research on the efficacy, efficiency, and impact of early care and education systems, thereby contributing to scholarly and public discourse and ensuring that every child in Virginia has the opportunity to thrive.
Our Core Goals
Conduct rigorous, independent research on the complex dynamics of Virginia鈥檚 early care and education sector, and systematically share findings through academic publications, technical reports, and public data resources to inform the broader research community and state stakeholders.
Perform comprehensive analysis and formative evaluations of existing and proposed legislative initiatives, assessing their projected impact, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with empirical evidence to maximize public investment in early childhood care and education programming.
Examine and analyze the structural and systemic factors that cause disparities in access to and quality of early childhood services in order to develop evidence-based policy solutions that promote an equitable distribution of resources and improve outcomes for vulnerable and historically underserved children.
